Nestled among towering fir trees and along the shore of Johnson Creek, Jean's Farm provides a peaceful and inspiring place for event hosting and outdoor learning in Portland, OR. When visiting Jean’s Farm, you will enjoy beautiful outdoor gathering spaces on the farm and in the forest, compost toilet facilities, a stocked educational and event (non-certified) kitchen including cob & barrel ovens and stove top, and a 30ft yurt with wood heat. There are also expansive gardens, chickens, beehives and a greenhouse for educational opportunities.  

To inquire about hosting a meeting or event at Jean’s Farm, please read our terms and conditions below and then fill out our contact form with your request, including dates, number of attendees and nature of the event.

In exchange for reserving the space at Jean's Farm for your private event or company gathering, we request $30/hr for up to 40 people. Hosting more than 40 people is only possible with prior arrangements and may result in higher fees. When hosting an event with children, adult:child ratios must adhere to Oregon childcare laws. 

Any group that pays to use the space at Jean's Farm must carry insurance. A signed contract, advance payment in full and official document from your insurer listing Jean's Farm as an "additional insured" are required in order to finalize your reservation at the farm.

Access & Preparedness
Access to the farm requires walking a long, steep and often muddy driveway that has only limited artificial lighting at night. Remember to come prepared with clothing appropriate for the weather as well as with flashlights for events that begin or end outside of daylight hours. Alter-abled access to the farm is available but requires advance arrangements.

Reduced Rates
Occasionally we are able to negotiate farm visit prices for non-profit organizations that serve low-income communities. Please contact us if you feel that you fit into this category and would like to discuss options.

For repeat renters, the rate of exchange may decrease to $20/hr over time if IPEC staffing costs are reduced by the renter gaining independence hosting at the site.

There is a weekend rate of $300 for up to 8 hours/day. Additional hours will be charged at the relevant $20-$30/hour rate and must be approved in advance. There are no overnight accommodations Jean's Farm.

Rarely, a weekly rate (M-F) of $400 (up to 8 hours/day) may be granted, but requires significant collaboration and advance planning in order to be approved. Generally, week-long programs are run through IPEC. 

All rates are calculated by rounding UP to the nearest half hour. Set-up and clean up time must be included in the reservation and may be no less than a half hour before and after an event is scheduled to begin.

The “Fine Print”
Space is reserved only after payment and paperwork are received. Advance payment is based on the projected timing of the event, set-up and clean up. There are no refunds for cancellations, however, if you need to change the date of your event, we are happy to accommodate changes according to availability in our calendar.

Renters are responsible for cleaning thoroughly (according to site instructions) after their event. A $40/hr cleaning fee will be assessed otherwise. Cleaning time will be calculated by rounding UP to the nearest half hour, with a minimum fee of $40.

If a balance is owed after an event (such as a cleaning fee or additional space use fee if the timing of an event runs over), payment is required within 7 days of the end of the event. No future space reservations will be granted with unpaid balances owed to IPEC.
